A lawyer and an engineer walk into a bar...

The Bench was established in 2023 when a couple of after work drinks turned into a discussion about how large construction and engineering projects could be run more effectively and kept out of the courtroom.

And the answer?

Lawyers.

We're not joking.

Lawyers, as it turns out, can make great commercial managers, contract administrators, procurement specialists, risk advisors, and dispute dodgers.

We provide technical, commercial, and legal resources on tap for short-term or end to end engagements, all supported by a team of HQ experts, allowing our clients to scale as required to deliver to any deadline.

We are looking to build our team, affectionately known as Bench Warmers, to ensure that our clients have access to the expertise they need at all stages of their projects.

We are keen to hear from lawyers who want to do things differently. Suits one day, steel caps the next.

Essential Requirements

  • Law degree
  • Experience working with construction, engineering, infrastructure, resources, or defence clients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Eligibility to work in Australia

Nice to have

  • Current practising certificate
  • 5 years PAE
  • In-house legal experience
  • Entrepreneurial attitude
  • Willing to travel
  • Security clearances
