About The Role
As Principal Security Advisor, you'll contribute to Suncorp's cyber resilience by leading threat detection, incident response, and technical investigations. You'll work within a dynamic team, driving innovation and automation across our security platforms.
What You'll Do
- Lead incident response activities, ensuring timely remediation and post-incident reviews that strengthen our security posture
- Develop and maintain advanced monitoring, detection, and alerting systems to identify emerging threats
- Conduct deep technical investigations across enterprise systems, providing actionable insights and supporting detection efforts
- Design and implement automation and orchestration solutions to streamline security operations
- Share knowledge and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence
- Collaborate across teams to embed security best practices and support strategic initiatives
What You'll Bring
- Extensive hands-on experience in IT security, including incident response, threat intelligence, and technical investigations
- Proficiency with SIEM, endpoint detection, behaviour analytics, and forensic tools
- Strong understanding of attacker tactics and threat landscape trends, including malware and hacking tools
- Experience with automation platforms and scripting to enhance security workflows
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across all levels of the organisation
- A collaborative mindset with leadership skills to coach, influence, and drive outcomes
