If you're someone who thrives on strategic thinking, enjoys solving complex challenges, and wants to play a key role in strengthening information management and security practices for Queensland, then this is the job for you Based at 1 William Street, Brisbane, the AO7 Principal Advisor - Information and Security is a permanent role offering flexible full-time hours.
You will support the development and implementation of enterprise-wide information security strategies, policies, and procedures, ensuring the department's governance frameworks, Information Security Management System (ISMS), and cyber awareness initiatives are effective. You will also provide expert advice to senior leadership on risk controls, treatments, and planning to guide the department's information management and security priorities.
Your daily tasks may include collaborating with Information Technology Partners (ITP) to refine strategies, monitoring the department's information asset portfolio, and coaching custodians to meet policy obligations. You could also contribute to incident response planning, review cybersecurity 'playbooks', or participate in whole-of-government cybersecurity exercises.
In this role, you'll provide high-level advice to senior leadership, contribute to key committees, and work with stakeholders across the department and external partners. This is a fast-paced role where your ability to analyse issues, communicate effectively, and manage priorities will be critical to your success.
