An exciting opportunity exists for two high performing individuals to join The Wave (Rail), within Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in the role of AO7 Principal Advisor (Comms and Engagement).

The Wave (Rail) project, previously known as the Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line project, is a generational infrastructure project that will revolutionise travel for the Sunshine Coast region, creating a seamless public transport network for the region. The Wave will deliver heavy passenger rail from Beerwah to Birtinya, and metrostyle vehicles will provide links between Birtinya, Mountain Creek, Maroochydore
CBD and the Sunshine Coast Airport.

The Opportunity

In the role of Principal Advisor (Communications and Engagement), you will lead stakeholder engagement and communication activities for The Wave (Rail) project, shaping a clear and cohesive narrative across a complex stakeholder environment. You will manage a small team of communication specialists, providing high-level project advice and ensuring all written and verbal communications are delivered to a

high standard. The role focuses on maintaining high levels of customer and stakeholder satisfaction by efficiently addressing stakeholder concerns and media enquiries while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

As the Principal Advisor (Communications and Engagement), you will develop and execute comprehensive communication plans across various channels to drive engagement and behaviour change. You will lead media management, provide timely and accurate advice, and monitor communication activities to implement iterative improvements. Additionally, you will deliver training to enhance team and divisional capacity in communication and engagement practices, while fostering a culture of performance improvement and collaboration that aligns with TMR values and supports a positive team environment.

You will model behaviours and attitudes aligned with TMR's values and contribute to a positive team culture, meeting of team and personal accountability expectations, and modelling the standards of professional behaviour.
