About the Role – HSEQ Business Partner

This pivotal role will drive safety, environmental and quality excellence across AE Smith's projects, services, and operations. You'll work closely with our operational leaders, technicians, and clients to strengthen our Zero Harm culture and ensure compliance with legislative and ISO standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of our Integrated Management System culture across sites and depots.
  • Conducting and assisting with incident investigations (ICAM), audits, and compliance checks.
  • Assisting with injury management and workers' compensation coordination.
  • Maintaining accurate HSEQ documentation, reporting, and records.
  • Building strong working relationships with site teams and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and supporting workforce competency, licensing, and training compliance.
  • Providing practical HSEQ advice, guidance, and coaching to frontline leaders and technicians.

This is a hands-on role where your expertise and leadership will make a genuine difference to our people and the way we operate.

To be Considered You Need:

  • 5+ years' experience in an HSEQ role within facilities management, construction or a similar technical field.
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and ISO standards (45001, 14001, 9001).
  • Proven experience developing and implementing HSEQ systems, frameworks, and compliance tools.

Mandatory:

  • Health and Safety qualification (Certificate IV minimum).
  • Internal auditor qualification or demonstrable auditing experience.

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.
  • Root Cause Investigation training (e.g. ICAM).

You'll also bring excellent communication, coaching, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and drive a proactive safety culture.
