About the role

 Mater Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Administration Officer (Ward Clerk) to join our team on a maximum-term 7-week, part-time contract (30 hours per week). The role requires availability Monday to Saturday between the hours of 7am-5pm and may include public holidays.

This role is pivotal in providing exceptional administrative support across our busy ward environment, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and an outstanding experience for patients, families and staff alike.

Salary range: $ $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits 

What you'll be doing

In this varied and rewarding role, you'll:

  • Deliver high-quality administrative support to the ward, patients and clinical teams.
  • Manage key tasks such as patient admissions and discharges, reception, data entry, payments, and record management.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture through collaboration, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

About you

You'll be a proactive and organised professional with strong communication and customer service skills, committed to delivering excellence in every interaction.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar administration role 
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data and record management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using health information systems.
  • A friendly, adaptable approach and commitment to Mater's Mission and Values.
