About the role

Directions Disability Support Services Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Disability Support Worker to join our team. This part-time position is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities within our local community.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and participate fully in their communities
  • Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and social and recreational activities
  • Advocating for the rights and needs of the individuals in your care, ensuring they receive the support and services they require
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation to ensure the highest standards of care
  • Promoting independence, choice, and social inclusion for the individuals you support

What we're looking for

  • A Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, related field or equivalent experience as a Support Worker
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the individuals in your care and their families
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives
  • A strong understanding of the principles of person-centred care and the ability to tailor your support to the unique needs of each individual
  • A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel within the local community
