About the role
Reporting to the RMIT UP CEO, The Associate Director, International Student Recruitment and Business Development provides strategic leadership for RMIT UP's international recruitment, marketing, partnerships, and business development activities across onshore and offshore markets. The role is responsible for driving student recruitment to meet enrolment targets, leading conversion and marketing strategies, and building strong international partnerships, including transnational education agreements.
As a member of the RMIT UP Leadership Team, the Associate Director manages the International Student Recruitment and Business Development team, oversees budgets, ensures compliance, and contributes to the broader internationalisation goals of RMIT. The position plays a key role in shaping recruitment strategies, expanding market reach, and fostering a high-performing team that delivers exceptional service and outcomes for international students and partners.
About You
You are a proven leader in international student recruitment and business development, with a strong understanding of the ELICOS, Foundation Studies and broader international education market.
You bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification with significant experience in people leadership and management
- Demonstrated expertise in international student recruitment, marketing, sales, and partnership development
- Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and deliver results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse cultural and organisational contexts
- Commercial acumen and experience managing budgets effectively
- High digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in a global environment
Desirable qualities include experience in agent management, familiarity with the university sector, and recruitment experience across a diverse range of source countries.
