About the role

Behaviour Collaboration is seeking a passionate and skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Capalaba, QLD. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing positive behaviour support to clients with complex needs, with the aim of enhancing their quality of life and promoting independence. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families we serve. Office location is in Capalaba.

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the function and drivers of challenging behaviours
  • Developing and implementing individualised behaviour support plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the broader support team
  • Providing training and coaching to clients, families, and support staff to promote the effective implementation of behaviour support strategies
  • Regularly reviewing and updating behaviour support plans to ensure they remain effective and responsive to the client's needs
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in positive behaviour support
  • Maintaining detailed records and contributing to reporting requirements

What we're looking for

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of positive behaviour support to individuals with complex needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement tailored behaviour support strategies
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in the field
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Strong writing skills
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
