We are partnering with an exciting client in the renewable energy sector who is looking for a technical business analyst to join their team.
As a Technical Business Analyst you will play a significant role in ensuring the smooth execution of BA activities. You will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders, product managers, and vendor development teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications and ensure successful delivery of products and solutions.
Core Accountabilities
- Run collaborative workshops with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business (FRs) and technical requirements (NFRs)
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data models
- Liaise between business units and technical teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements
- Draft stakeholder engagement plans, RACI, and project org-charts to ensure seamless engagement and governance
- Participate in solution design discussions and provide input on technical feasibility
- Conduct gap analysis, impact analysis, and root cause analysis for system changes and issues
- Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups
- Coordinate with QA, developers, and product managers to ensure high-quality deliverables and formal approvals
- Engage in practical problem solving. Present findings and recommendations to working groups
- Assist with status reporting and other governance packs creation
- Assist with end-user test planning and execution including liaising with the business, technology, vendor, and the test teams as required
Must Have Experience:
- Design and delivering integration, including documentation of source-target data mapping, business requirements documentation
- Vendor management and ability to work well with Vendors to ensure clarity in requirements and design
- Experience in managing multiple initiatives/projects concurrently and aligned with a master project plan
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and wireframing tools (Figma)
- A problem-solving mindset with strong technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail and strong documentation habits
- Effective communicator who connects well with diverse teams
- Collaborative, customer-focused, and outcome-driven
- Organised, adaptable, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn and grow
- Proven ability to juggle priorities and deliver high-quality results under pressure
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in the energy sector or other highly regulated sector.
- Understanding of the energy transition.
- Experience working on complex customer facing web-based applications and digital platforms
- Experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
