Senior Technical Business Analyst

Job purpose

The Senior Technical Business Analyst will play a key role in a large-scale B2C eCommerce upgrade project, specifically leading the requirements and analysis for an upgrade of SAP Commerce Cloud to its latest version. This role requires deep technical knowledge of commerce platforms, integration patterns, and migration strategies, combined with strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

The Senior Technical BA serves as the trusted advisor between business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams, ensuring requirements are clear, testable, and aligned to the overall program strategy.

Responsibilities

·      

Lead discovery, gap analysis, and requirements for migration from legacy SAP Commerce Cloud to the latest version

·      

Analyse dependencies across product catalogue, checkout flows, payments, customer accounts, and integrations with ERP/CRM, marketing automation, and 3rd party systems

·      

Translate upgrade-related business requirements into functional/technical specifications, ensuring compatibility with new SAP Commerce Cloud features

·      

Facilitate design sessions and technical workshops to validate solutions with stakeholders

·      

Creation of Epics, Features & User Stories within either JIRA or Azure DevOps

·      

Partner with solution architects to define data migration, regression strategy, and integration testing coverage

·      

Assisting with backlog grooming readiness

·      

Assisting development teams when requirements require clarification

·      

Assisting with process facilitation, engaging with internal, external and client stakeholders

·      

Assisting internal QA testers with UAT test plans

·      

Tracking of your project tasks and progress, including managing sprints, boards, and tickets, and ensuring there is accurate time tracking being upheld in JIRA or Azure DevOps

·      

Producing clear documentation of your projects and ensuring all relevant project documentation is stored in Confluence

·      

Problem solving throughout the delivery process, flagging potential issues early when additional assistance is required, and work issues through to a satisfactory conclusion

Support cutover planning and post-upgrade hypercare activities

·      

Ad hoc duties where required

The ideal candidate

·      

Has experience in large-scale B2C eCommerce implementations or upgrades, ideally with the SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) platform

·      

Can anticipate challenges in platform migrations, including data integrity, integration regression, and customer impact

·      

Loves solving problems and has a flexible attitude toward evolving responsibilities and environments

·      

Has outstanding written and verbal communication skills

·      

Is a self-starter & can work to deadlines

Can identify & articulate risk

·      

Has the ability to understand and work around complex business processes

·

Qualifications & Experience

·      

5+ years working as a Business Analyst working across large scale digital & commerce project

·      

Hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) upgrade projects.

·      

Formal Business Analysis qualifications will be highly desirable (CBAP, CCBA, BABOK etc)

·      

Experience within a digital consultancy or large-scale transformation program.

·      

Has strong experience working with different delivery methodologies, including agile, waterfall and hybrid agile

·      

Must have proven track record reviewing customer journeys, facilitating requirements capture and writing Epics, Feature & User stories

·      

Must have proven track record of eliciting requirements from stakeholders, analysing gaps and process mapping

·      

Experience working with JIRA, Confluence & Azure DevOps
