Here at Astra Early Learning we are in search of an innovative, dedicated and passionate Educational Leader to join our leadership team at our 94-place service in Narre Warren South.

The hours of operation are 7.00am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday. This is a permanent fulltime position where you will be working 38 hours per week.

The successful applicant would be a natural leader that has a warm and encouraging nature, it is essential that you be able to create and maintain a welcoming and inspiring environment for our children and families, whilst mentoring, and guiding a team of Educators.  We are looking for someone who is creative and passionate about learning environments and has a strong understanding of the Reggio Emilia Approach and will be able to support the teams in transforming their learning spaces.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Minimum Diploma-level Early Childhood Qualification, or equivalent as approved by ACECQA.
  • Proven experience as a Educational Leader
  • High-level understanding and adherence to the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework (VEYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), National Regulations and Law.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and team development

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading and supporting a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care.
  • Mentor, guide and support a team of early childhood professionals in line with company policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct
  • Supporting the service to manage resource budgets of the centre
  • Support the service to ensure the service is compliant with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and other relevant legislation
  • Develop and maintain the centre Quality Improvement Plan
  • To ensure that all relevant legal and statutory requirements are monitored, complied with, and implemented
  • To implement and uphold the services' philosophy, vision and values.
