About the Role:

As a Cook, you will be an integral part of our store's daily operations. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure our customers have a positive shopping experience by delivering a range of high quality products for Good Grocer customers ensuring an exceptional customer service experience.

You will be responsible for ensuring products are prepared efficiently and in line with the expectations of the of the Department Manager and Store Manager, while maintaining high standards of food safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the food preparation process and the preparation of cooked foods.
• Manage and prepare meals to the required standards based on demand.
• Prepare and present meals and food products in an attractive way for customers.
• Minimise waste through new innovative meal options.
• Ensure recipes and cooking instructions are followed.
• Be proactive by introducing new profitable quality products.
• Assist customers with product selections and purchases, ensuring every customer receives an exceptional and memorable shopping experience.
• Ensure strict compliance with all food safety standards, food labelling, workplace health and safety regulations, and company policies.
• Effectively communicate with team members, customers, and the broader Good Grocer Group.

Skills & Experience:

• Qualified Cook or equivalent demonstrated industry experience, preferably with 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• Creative approach to produce value-added meals and products.
• A comprehensive understanding of food safety standards and the ability to ensure compliance.
• Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for creating a positive shopping environment.
• Strong merchandising skills with the ability to create visually appealing displays.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
