At The Shepherd Centre, we believe every child who is deaf or has hearing loss deserves the chance to listen, speak and reach their full potential.

We're now inviting expressions of interest to join our Board of Directors and Operational Sub-Advisory Groups. These voluntary roles are a special opportunity to use your skills and experience to help shape the future of an organisation that changes lives every day.

We are particularly seeking expertise in Digital & IT, Business & Finance, Philanthropy, as well as other specialist areas, your contribution could help ensure even more children and families have the support they need to thrive.

Board of Directors

We are looking for new Directors to join our Board. In particular, we are seeking individuals with

expertise in the following areas:

  • Digital and IT
    – including digital transformation, emerging technologies, and data and systems strategy.
  • Business and Finance
    – including accounting, audit, governance, and strategic growth.
  • Philanthropy and Key Relationships
    – including fundraising, philanthropy, corporate partnerships, and major donor engagement.

Operational Sub-Advisory Group Opportunities

In addition to Board Director roles, we also welcome expressions of interest for our Operational Sub-Advisory Groups, which provide guidance on specialised areas of The Shepherd Centre's work.

Current Opportunities:

  • Finance, Audit and Risk
    – for professionals with backgrounds in finance, accounting, governance, or risk management.
  • People and Culture
    – for experts in human resources, organisational development, or workforce change.
  • Digital Advisory
    – for those with experience in digital strategy, technology innovation, data privacy, or product development.
  • Strategic Opportunities Advisory
    – for individuals with expertise in business strategy, innovation, or sustainable practices.
  • Community Advisory
    – for people with strong community connections and lived experience of hearing loss or disability.
  • Key Relationships & Philanthropy
    – for professionals with experience in fundraising, philanthropy, or corporate partnerships.
