Mental Health Clinician - Short Term Assessment and Response Team (START)

Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, forming part of Mildura Base Public Hospital, offers a range of inpatient and community-based services for people with mental illness in the Northern Mallee Region. The Role: The Treatment and Support Team (TAS) is a multidisciplinary team providing short-term community follow up for its consumers following presentation with acute signs of mental illness and/or present with significant risks to themselves or others. The TAS team works closely with the consumer and their carers/families to actively engage with community supports ensuring quality consumer focused care.
Duties for this role include undertaking primary youth specific consultation services including triage, assessments, risk and safety planning and short-term brief therapeutic intervention in conjunction with consumers, their families and supports. Liaison with other professionals as required including primary care providers such as GP's, psychologists.
The position is classified as an RN3, SW2, OT2 orPsych2 under the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have a relevant degree in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy. We encourage Provisional Psychologists to apply, as we have a Board Approved Clinical Psychology Supervisor available onsite.
Candidates will also have demonstrated experience, skill and/or knowledge in the provision of direct clinical care to people who have experienced mental illness along with a working knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022. A current driver's licence is essential.
