- Ongoing full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity
- Office location is Parramatta/Wollongong/Queanbeyan/Newcastle – Other Regional location or Hybrid working supported
- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $144,018 to $158,718 + super
Our team is currently seeking to appoint a Principal Project Officer Stewardship Support Program to lead a small team with the primary responsibility for the delivery of biodiversity stewardship assessments to improve the supply of biodiversity credits in the Biodiversity Offset Scheme.
The role involves leading and reviewing biodiversity assessments to ensure they meet high standards of the method whilst working closely with staff, landholders and other stakeholders to ensure the establishment of practical and effective stewardship agreements.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will be an experienced accredited assessor with experience in biodiversity assessments and restoration management. You have good project management skills and enjoy developing and supporting a collaborative, capable and efficient team of ecologists. You will love the opportunity to put your BAM experience to work to deliver practical and long-term private land conservation outcomes.
Key knowledge and experience
- Extensive experience in planning, implementing and managing ecological field survey teams and programs to achieve priority objectives.
- Substantial experience in the application of the Biodiversity Assessment Method.
- Proven ability in influencing stakeholders to act and deliver agreed outcomes.
Essential requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications
- Current Driver's License
- Willing and able to assist with ecological fieldwork which involves travel
- Knowledge and experience in application of the BAM and BAM accreditation.
- Knowledge of ecological restoration and management relevant to preparation of BSSARs, BSA management plans and TFDs
