Care in Action

With a career at the TAC, you’ll be helping us look out for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads. That’s care in action.

Right now, we’re seeking a Principal Information Security Manager who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. That’s truly rewarding work that will help us continue to deliver life-critical services where it matters.

About the role

The Principal Information Security Manager leads the TAC’s cybersecurity agenda, responsible for the development, implementation, and governance of enterprise-wide security strategy, policies, and risk management practices. You will embed a security-first culture, provide expert advice to senior stakeholders, and manage cybersecurity risks across digital systems, projects, and third-party engagements.

Your impact will be felt through both strategic leadership and practical delivery, establishing the people, processes, technology and tooling required to secure the TAC’s data and information. You will play a pivotal role in enabling secure digital transformation, ensuring compliance with Victorian Government cybersecurity policies, and positioning TAC as a trusted leader in information security.

This is a highly influential role requiring deep technical expertise, proven leadership in standing up a security capability, and the ability to guide the organisation through transformation. You will balance immediate risk management with building long-term resilience, shaping the future of cybersecurity at TAC.

About the Team

This role sits within the Digital Delivery branch as part of the Enterprise Transformation Division. You will join a team known for high EQ and empathy, working closely together to build capability during a period of significant transformation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Officer, who values intent-based leadership – providing clarity of direction while empowering you to build the detail, you will have the trust and autonomy to shape TAC’s cybersecurity future. You will design and lead your team, guiding them through the transformation journey and embedding security as a core enabler of TAC’s digital strategy.

What we’re looking for

Proven Security Leader

You bring extensive experience in information or cyber security, with a strong track record of establishing security capability from the ground up. You’ve led the design and execution of cybersecurity strategies, uplift programs, and governance frameworks in complex or regulated environments. Relevant tertiary qualifications and strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST CSF, VPDSF are essential.

Strategic Builder & Innovator

You’re adept at working with what exists today while creating what’s needed for tomorrow. You can establish people, processes, technology, and tooling to secure data and information, and are committed to continuous improvement.

You’re a trusted advisor to executives and senior leaders and can translate complex security concepts into clear, actionable insights. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, you influence and guide both technical and non-technical audiences to achieve shared outcomes. With high emotional intelligence, you bring people on the journey, building trust and alignment across teams.

Why you’ll love it here

There’s more to work than a competitive salary and amazing employee benefits. As our newest Principal Information Security Manager, you’ll also:

Every day the work you do at the TAC contributes to something bigger. As part of an inclusive, supportive team you’ll find real purpose in achieving goals, together.

We’re invested in your progress. When you work for one of Victoria’s largest and leading workplaces, you’ll receive extensive internal opportunities for development and access to the LinkedIn Learning Digital Hub.
