Parks Project Manager / Landscape Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Parks Project Manager / Landscape Architect to join our client's team. In this key role, you will lead the delivery of capital works projects across parks, sports fields, reserves, gardens, and foreshores-helping shape green, inclusive, and functional spaces that enhance community wellbeing.

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Pay Rate $58.59 p/h

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, design, procurement, and delivery of capital works projects in public open spaces
  • Conduct site investigations, scoping, and develop accurate cost estimates
  • Prepare landscape architecture designs and documentation (in-house or via consultants)
  • Oversee the preparation of project approvals including DAs and environmental assessments
  • Coordinate tenders and procurement processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Administer contracts and supervise contractors or internal delivery teams
  • Lead community and stakeholder consultation for park upgrade projects
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with Council's strategic plans, policies, and KPIs
  • Monitor and report on budgets, timelines, and project performance
  • Identify and address public safety risks and respond to customer feedback
  • Contribute to grant applications and ensure compliance with funding requirements
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports, and attend relevant meetings and committees
  • Assist the Parks Planning & Engagement team and act in the Coordinator role when required

Essential Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications OR equivalent experience in capital works delivery
- Strong project procurement and budgetary experience
- Proven experience in design and specification of capital works infrastructure to relevant standards
- Effective project and contract management skills
- Experience in contractor supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and CAD
- Commitment to EEO, diversity, WHS, ethical practice, and acting with integrity
- Class C Driver's Licence

Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working in Local Government
- Practical experience in open space, recreation, or landscape infrastructure projects
