We are seeking dedicated and motivated team member to join our Grounds teams at our Rookwood General Cemeterysite at Metropolitan Memorial Parks, we uphold values of understanding, honour and respect for the individuals we assist daily.

The Role:

We are currently seeking dedicated and passionate Grounds staff to join our high-performing and output-driven Grounds Team at our Rookwood General Cemetery site located at Rookwood (Lidcombe), NSW.

As a grounds team member, you will play a crucial role in maintaining general grounds and gardening operations. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing grounds maintenance tasks, including turf maintenance, pest and disease control, pruning, hedging, fertilising utilising a range of motorised garden equipment, and minor building maintenance.
  • Engaging in general landscape construction activities.
  • Assisting in planting trees, shrubs and annuals following planting plans.
  • Effectively communicating with Funeral Directors, families and visitors.
  • Providing additional support to the Burials and Crematorium team when necessary.

About You:

The successful candidate will possess a mature outlook and a positive "can-do" attitude with an ability to perform duties with empathy and professionalism.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in parks and gardens maintenance desirable but not essential
  • A White Card (or willing to obtain).
  • Passion for working outdoors and ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Enjoyment working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Initiative, self-motivation and ability to contribute to planning and scheduling.
  • Punctuality, reliability, presentability, respect and empathy.
  • Ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A current, unrestricted driver's license (essential).
