The Role

As Head Chef, you will lead our kitchen team, oversee menu development, and ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. You'll have the opportunity to bring your creative flair to our evolving menu while maintaining the traditional flavours and techniques that make Sushi Baby special.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of chefs and kitchen staff
  • Develop and refine menus with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients
  • Ensure kitchen operations run smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively
  • Maintain strict hygiene, safety, and food quality standards
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain excellence in execution
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Work closely with management to ensure an outstanding guest experience

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a Japanese restaurant
  • Expertise in sushi and Japanese cuisine
  • Qualifications in Commercial Cookery
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • A passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and innovative menu creation
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
