About the Role
Data#3 is seeking a capable and autonomous
Cloud Enginee
r to support a hybrid on-premise and Azure environment across both
BAU operation
s and
project delivery
with our customer. This role requires a technically strong engineer who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and contribute to a secure, best-practice cloud and infrastructure environment.
With several major infrastructure uplift initiatives underway—including Intune migration, Windows Server upgrades, VMware improvements, and a Commvault to Rubrik transition—the successful candidate will play a key role in stabilising, maintaining, and evolving the customer's cloud and on-prem environment.

Key Responsibili
ties
Cloud & Infrastructure Operations
- Support and maintain a
hybrid cloud environment
across Azure and on-prem infrastructure. - Perform BAU operational tasks including incident response, administration, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Conduct regular
environmental health checks
across Azure, VMware, and Windows Server platforms. - Ensure compliance with security and operational standards, including patching and MFA.
Project Delivery
- Contribute to ongoing Azure, infrastructure, and endpoint modernization initiatives.
- Support the migration from
SCCM hybrid
to
Intune cloud-managed devices
using Autopilot. - Assist with the upgrade of
Windows Server to 2022
. - Support VMware uplift activities including version upgrades and environment health improvements.
- Participate in the
Commvault to Rubrik
backup migration project. - Manage SSL certificate lifecycle, RBAC, storage, managed identities, and VM configurations in Azure.
Technical Administration & Governance
- Participate in the formal
change management process
and ensure all changes adhere to organisational standards. - Manage integrations with various third-party systems and services.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, runbooks, and environment diagrams.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a
Cloud Engineer
(Azure) in hybrid environments. - Ability to pivot between
project work and BAU
with minimal oversight. - Strong hands-on experience with:
- Azure VMs, storage, RBAC, managed identities
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Intune & SCCM
(hybrid; Intune migration experience highly desirable) - Windows Server (including upgrade to 2022)
- VMware
(health checks, version upgrades, general hypervisor proficiency) - MFA administration & identity security
- SSL certificates
- Experience working with third-party integrations in an enterprise environment.
- Formal change management experience.
Bonus / Highly Desirable Skills
- SQL Server familiarity (basic to intermediate).
- Nutanix exposure.
- DevOps / CI-CD pipeline knowledge (nice to have, not mandatory).
Behavioural & Cultural Expectations
