About The Role
In this important role, working a Gardener/Maintenance Officer, reporting to the Retirement Living Manager, you will provide maintenance and gardening support to this Retirement Village. A friendly sociable personality coupled with empathy and compassion for the elderly will make you a perfect fit for this role.

Some Responsibilities May Include But Not Be Limited To

• Conducting regular inspections to ensure tidy and well-maintained site to support all activities.
• General maintenance & repairs to buildings and infrastructure
• Maintenance of up-to-date inventory of all equipment including adhering to preventative maintenance program of all equipment.
• Horticultural and ground development, maintenance and monitoring to maximise seasonal conditions.
• Trees and shrubs pruning.
• Mowing of lawns, edging, fertilising and weeding.
• Clearing and removal of garden refuse.
• Paths, drains and edge maintenance and repair when needed.
• Undertaking of any repair work and maintenance duties within the village in consultation with the Retirement Village Manager.
• Maintaining records of all works conducted.

What will you bring to the role?

• Horticultural knowledge and experience (desirable).
• Maintenance and/or Trade qualification (desirable).
• Previous experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance.
• Experience in safe operation of ride on mowers, gardening equipment and power tools with adherence to WH&S policies at all times.
• Demonstrated problem solving and a "can do" attitude.
• Exceptional people and interpersonal skills.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team but also be capable of working autonomously.
