Receptionist – Hospitality / Private Membership Club (Part-Time)

Located in Spring Hill on the fringe of the CBD, the United Service Club Queensland is a premier private members' club, upholding our tradition of service and excellence since 1892.

Originally established as a social club for Queensland military officers, today we reflect a modern Queensland community, welcoming members and guests of all ages, genders, and backgrounds, while continuing to value our heritage, traditions, and defence community.

Our members and their guests enjoy exclusive dining options, private functions, Club events, and a welcoming space to relax and connect.

Position Summary

This is a part-time position (three days per week, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm) working within our reception team to provide exceptional service as the first point of contact for members and their guests via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.

You will deliver a seamless service in a multi-tasking role which includes:

  • Meeting and greeting members and guests.
  • Managing accommodation bookings, daily dining, and event reservations.
  • Assisting the accounts department with billing and processing membership invoices/statements.
  • Performing accurate end-of-day accounting procedures.

The Club uses NorthStar software for most reception tasks, the successful candidate will have prior experience with NorthStar or similar Club Reception/Hotel Front Office systems such as RMS or Opera.

The Applicant

  • Minimum of 3 years' recent experience in guest services or hotel front desk (essential).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while addressing membership needs with professionalism.
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia (essential).
