The Role

Netball WA is seeking a skilled and strategic Marketing Automation Specialist to lead the optimisation and expansion of our Braze marketing automation platform. This contract role is pivotal in enhancing our consumer database, digital engagement and driving revenue growth across:

  • West Coast Fever membership, ticketing, and merchandise
  • Netball WA participation programs and clinics

You'll audit our current Braze setup, streamline data ingestion processes, and build out automated customer journeys that increase audience engagement, conversion and retention.

Responsibilities and Duties

Data & Segmentation Strategy

  • Work with external stakeholders to ensure the smooth ingestion of key data sources into Braze via the Netball WA Snowflake Data Warehouse
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure clean, timely, and actionable data ingestion into Braze
  • Develop dynamic segmentation strategies to personalise communications based on user behaviour, preferences, and lifecycle stage

Journey Design & Execution

  • Design and implement a data enrichment strategy to identify anonymous users and enhance user profiles within Braze, enabling more personalised and effective customer journeys.
  • Design and build automated, multi-channel customer journeys primarily across email and SMS
  • Align journeys with key business objectives: Membership acquisition and renewal ,Ticket sales and event attendance ,Merchandise promotion and sales and Participation program registrations (e.g., clinics, NetSetGo)
  • Use Braze integrations to assist with maximising Paid Social Media marketing spend.

Performance & Reporting

  • Monitor campaign performance and optimise based on engagement and conversion metrics
  • Setting up automated reports to key departments and personnel
  • Deliver regular reports and actionable insights to stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience using Braze for marketing automation (minimum 2 years)
  • Strong understanding of data ingestion, customer segmentation, and journey orchestration
  • Experience in email marketing, CRM strategy, and multi-channel campaign execution
  • Ability to translate business goals into technical Braze workflows
  • Familiarity with e-commerce, ticketing, or membership-based marketing is highly desirable
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and process
  • Current WA Working with Children Check

Desirable

  • Experience with Netball or sports marketing
  • Knowledge of Snowflake Data Warehouse, CDPs, APIs, and data integration tools
  • HTML/CSS for email template customisation

Hours of Work

  • This is role can be a full time or part time role on a 12 Month Max Term contract
  • The sport industry operates outside of traditional business hours, including weekends. To succeed in this role, you must be willing and able to work when and where sport is happening. We have a flexible approach to ensuring our people can balance their family life and personal commitments alongside the demands of the industry.
