Founded by young cancer patients, we offer programs and resources that truly make a difference for 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or grieving. Canteen, Camp Quality and Redkite (Alliance Partners) are working together to provide Cancer Hub – a digital hub to help families impacted by cancer more easily access the practical and emotional support they need, when they need it.

We are now seeking a Project Officer , who will play a pivotal role in contributing to the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of projects across Cancer Hub, including initiatives related to the Alliance.This role offers an opportunity make a real impact within Cancer Hub and be part of an organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

About our role

As a Project Officer, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects across Cancer Hub, including initiatives related to the Alliance. Working closely with the Project Manager – Cancer Hub and the Head of Cancer Hub, you will support the leadership team in delivering key priorities. This role involves collaborating across Cancer Hub and the national service delivery team to progress projects that support Cancer Hub's services and accreditation activities. You will play an important role in supporting the effective delivery of projects and aligning with national frameworks and the strategic and operational objectives of the service.

You will have experience providing project support, including report and procedural document writing, preferably within clinical, allied health or other psychosocial contexts. Additionally, you will be proactive, an analytical and creative thinker, and be able to work independently on delivering high quality project outputs on time and budget.

This role has a focus on continuous improvement to enhance the service experience of children, young people and families impacted by cancer, including improving access for priority population groups. This role will also provide support for the re-accreditation of services through the National Safety and Quality Digital Mental Health Standards.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (certificate, diploma or degree) in fields such as project management, diversity and inclusion, social work, public policy, public health/health promotion, community services (desirable).
  • You will have at least 2 years of experience working in a project role across any industry, or demonstrated experience contributing to policy related project work within a service delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to projects with positive outcomes, including developing project plans, change management plans, and working within a project management framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple tasks and projects, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Organisation and time management skills.
  • Experience in building collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (telephone, verbal and written) and report writing skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a clear, logical, and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges impacting young people living with cancer.
  • Display ability to review and analyse situations, procedures and systems and to recommend changes where appropriate.
  • Ability to think analytically, creatively and innovatively.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • You bring enthusiasm, integrity, and adaptability to your work, with strong attention to detail and initiative.
  • A warm, compassionate, and friendly approach to supporting our young people.
