About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SIL Team Leader to oversee supports for participants with complex needs, including those with regulated restrictive practices in place. This role ensures participants are safe, supported, and empowered to live meaningful, fulfilling lives while achieving their NDIS goals.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and supervise a team of support workers delivering 24/7 SIL supports
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive living environment for participants
  • Support participants to achieve daily routines and individual goals in line with NDIS plans
  • Ensure participants are supported to meet their NDIS goals and achieve greater independence
  • Promote independence, choice, and control, keeping participants informed about their rights, services, and options
  • Oversee daily living supports, including personal care, household tasks, and community access
  • Coordinate and attend medical and allied health appointments, ensuring participants' health needs are met
  • Guide staff in the safe and effective implementation of behaviour support plans and restrictive practice requirements
  • Maintain high-quality documentation, including rosters, shift notes, incident reporting, and compliance records
  • Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the SIL home, including cleanliness, maintenance, meal planning, household budgeting, and WHS compliance
  • Work collaboratively with participants, families, behaviour support practitioners, Clinical Coordinators, Support Coordinators, and the NDIS
  • Act as the primary point of contact for participant-related matters within the SIL home
  • Conduct staff meetings, provide coaching, mentoring, and appraisals, and address performance concerns professionally
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in disability services, particularly Supported Independent Living (SIL)
  • Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards, behaviour support, and restrictive practice reporting
  • Completion of all NDIS training modules – mandatory
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop support staff
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar
  • Current First Aid, CPR, NDIS Worker Screening, and Police Check
