About Us

Eyes of Hope is a Sydney-based not-for-profit delivering free, high-quality eye care to people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage. Through our monthly mobile eye clinics, we connect volunteer optometrists, dispensers, and community partners to provide glasses, referrals, and compassionate care for those who need it most.

We're looking for a Operations Manager to join our leadership team. This is a part-time role with flexible, mostly remote work — though you'll occasionally join us at clinics, team meetings, or community events.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you'll provide leadership and oversight across all areas of the organisation — from clinic operations and volunteers to marketing, fundraising, and compliance. You'll act as the final escalation point for operational issues, support our leads, and help ensure we're sustainable, compliant, and making maximum impact.

What You'll Do

Oversee mobile clinic operations, supporting our Clinic Manager and Clinic Technician.

Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of key volunteers and ensure strong succession planning.

Check in regularly with our Marketing & Fundraising Leads, monitoring KPIs and guiding campaigns, partnerships, and grant applications.

Provide oversight of admin and compliance (bookkeeping, ACNC reporting, policies, board-ready reporting).

Lead monthly all-team meetings to keep everyone aligned and engaged.

Identify risks, strengthen systems, and ensure we're running smoothly across people, clinics, and processes.

Oversee our digital tools (Optomate, volunteer management software) and data privacy compliance.

What We're Looking For


• A qualified Optometrist or Optical Dispenser with technical experience in clinical operations, equipment, or dispensing.


• Proven leadership experience in a not-for-profit, healthcare, or volunteer-based organisation.


• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.


• Excellent communicator who can build trust and bring out the best in volunteers and partners.


• Comfortable working independently, remotely, and flexibly.

Nice to Have


• Familiarity with HR/volunteer management and financial oversight.


• Working knowledge of charity compliance (ACNC).


• Knowledge of Medicare and Vision Australia billing programs.
