The Talent Initiative is seeking a strategic and hands-on
Resource Manager
for a leading utility organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to pioneer a new function, working across the enterprise to optimise capacity, balance supply and demand, and deliver critical insights for workforce planning.
About the Role:
As the organisation's first dedicated Resource Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how resources are allocated and utilised across projects and business units. You'll work closely with senior leaders to provide a clear view of current and future workforce needs, ensuring the business can meet its goals efficiently and effectively.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading enterprise-wide resource management—tracking capacity, supply, and demand
- Collaborating with project managers, HR, and business leaders to forecast workforce requirements
- Analysing data to identify gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimisation
- Developing and implementing resource management frameworks, processes, and reporting tools
- Providing actionable insights to inform workforce planning and strategic decision-making
- Educating and influencing stakeholders on the value of structured resource management
What You Bring:
- Senior-level experience in resource management, workforce planning, or portfolio/project management
- Proven ability to work across multiple business units and engage with senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical and reporting skills; comfortable turning data into decision-ready insights
- Experience introducing or building resource management functions (ideally in utilities, infrastructure, or complex environments)
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and change leadership skills
