The Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia (CYCSA) is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead the next phase of growth and innovation across its world-class facilities, operations, and membership experience.

The Opportunity

As General Manager, you will work closely with an engaged and forward-thinking Board and President to:

  • Drive strategic priorities focused on membership growth, engagement, and youth participation
  • Cultivate a vibrant, inclusive club culture, rooted in excellence and sporting achievement
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Club's extensive marina and hospitality facilities

This is a broad and fulfilling leadership role offering variety and challenge across sporting operations, association (sailing, fishing and social) development, hospitality, asset management, and member services; all while enjoying the personal and professional rewards of work by the sea.

About You

You're a talented executive or senior operational leader ready to take on a meaningful and high-impact role. Ideally, you bring experience in some of the following:

  • Leading a sporting, recreational, or member-based organisation
  • Overseeing
    h
    ospitality, events, and commercial operations
  • Managing significant physical assets: marinas, berths, and onshore facilities
  • Engaging with members, stakeholders, and staff across a wide spectrum of activities

What is essential is that you bring a proven ability to lead initiatives which will result in growth in membership, participation, partnerships and revenue, elevating the club's financial performance and community impact.

Additionally, a background and strong personal interest in boating, cruising, or competitive sailing would be highly regarded. More importantly, you're someone who will genuinely embrace the opportunity to build on a strong club culture and be a visible, respected presence across the club community.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead and oversee teams across:

  • Member engagement, growth and marketing
  • Facilities, marina operations, leasing and asset renewal
  • Boating operations and training programs
  • Hospitality and event operations
  • Financial management and performance

Located at North Haven on Adelaide's picturesque Lefevre Peninsula, the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia is home to more than 1,200 members.
