About the role

Finkelstein Hickmott Pty Ltd is seeking an Intermediate Tax Accountant to join our thriving accounting firm in West Perth, Western Australia. As an Intermediate Tax Accountant, you will play a key role in providing tax planning and compliance services to our diverse client base. This is a full-time position, offering ongoing career development opportunities within a supportive and collaborative environment.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, Partnerships, Trusts and Companies
  2. Preparation of ATO statements including activity statements and fringe benefits tax returns
  3. Conducting tax research and analysis to identify tax planning opportunities for clients
  4. Advising clients on tax implications of business transactions and strategies
  5. Collaborating with the wider accounting team to deliver integrated financial services
  6. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and compliance requirements
  7. Mentoring junior team members

What we're looking for

  1. A degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
  2. 3-5 years' experience as a Tax Accountant, in a public practice environment
  3. Strong technical tax knowledge and expertise in preparing complex tax returns
  4. Exceptional communication and client relationship management abilities
  5. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
  6. Ideally experienced in Xero and XPM
  7. Looking to commence or current working towards becoming a CPA/CA accountant
