We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Pastoral 2 Point Coordinator to join the College commencing at the start of the 2026 College year.
About the role
The Pastoral 2 Point Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Pastoral Care and be an active member of the Pastoral Team. The successful candidate will lead a year group and proactively ensure that students' academic and wellbeing needs are supported within a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate a year group within the College's pastoral care framework.
- Support and guide Homeroom teachers in fostering a positive and supportive environment for students.
- Collaborate with the Director of Pastoral Care and other staff to implement programs that enhance student wellbeing, engagement, and development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Support the delivery of College pastoral initiatives, assemblies, and events.
- Model and promote the College's Catholic values and the Edmund Rice Charism.
The ability to teach Mathematics or Religious Education is an advantage.
The Pastoral 2 Point Coordinator position is a promotional role appointed for a period of three (3) years, with the opportunity for a further three (3) years pending review. The underlying teaching position is full time and permanent.
Essential Criteria:
- A strong commitment to Catholic values, morals, and faith in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor others.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate curriculum and cater to diverse learning needs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
Highly Desirable Criteria:
- Experience leading a pastoral year group or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing pastoral plans and programs.
- Strong understanding of the unique learning needs of young men.
- High level of ICT skills and experience using technology in a blended learning environment.
- Demonstrated passion for student-centred learning and wellbeing.
- Excellent organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Salary and Conditions
Teachers at St Dominic's College are employed under the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023.
This leadership position attracts an additional 2 Point Coordinator Allowance.
The salary will be reflective of NESA accreditation level and teaching experience, with an estimated annual salary between $ and $157 237
