Overview:

My client operates a modern open cut coal operation in regional QLD. I am looking for a STP Mining Engineer with a strong track record in delivering robust plans and designs with a safety first mentality.

The position is permanent full time, working a Monday to Friday roster. On offer is an attractive salary package including short term bonuses. This is a FIFO position.

The role

The ideal candidate will have various responsibilities, including delivering plans, designs and schedules, ensuring that the operation's short term vision is realised. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to plan for the pit, including scheduling, developing dig, dump, infrastructure and reshape designs whilst working closely with operations ensuring safe execution. Working within a range of teams (Drill & Blast, Truck & Shovel, Dragline, Rehabilitation & Services), you will be working closely to execute mine plans. The company is a responsible miner of coal that has a track record of safe, operational excellence.

The candidate

  • The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining/Civil or related field)
  • Valid Australian visa with full working rights
  • Skilled in using Mine Design and Scheduling packages (Vulcan, Deswik, Spry etc.)
  • 3-5 years minimum relevant experience
