The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Mining Engineer role at our Poitrel mine located in the Bowen Basin.  You will provide an integral role in the operations short to medium term mine planning and scheduling processes for the mine.

As a Mining Engineer you will:

  • Support / develop both short and medium term schedules.
  • Support the optimisation of mine planning processes to improve coal flow opportunities.
  • Work closely with survey, geology, geotechnical, production and logistics team to generate efficiencies for all stakeholders.
  • Develop designs to support mining / rehabilitation progress in line with the schedule.
  • Audit and monitor schedule / design compliance activities.
  • Generate reports to support the mines activities.

About You

  • A commitment to safety and continuous improvement, including process improvement.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mining or Civil) or equivalent.
  • Exposure working in an open pit coal operation.
  • Understanding of value drivers in large open pit mining operations.
  • Ability to work with Deswik, Vulcan and SPRY packages.
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
