Business Development Officer

My client is an Australian and New Zealand professional service provider, assisting skilled professionals and employers across multiple industries. They are expanding their employer network and seeking a motivated Business Development Officer to support employer engagement and recruitment for skilled migration placements.
Role Description
The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying, contacting, and building relationships with Australian employers experiencing skills shortages, and helping them explore sponsorship pathways for candidates. You will engage directly with business owners, HR managers, and employers across priority sectors, and collaborate with the migration team to convert leads into active sponsorship arrangements.
This role is part-time (approximately 15 hours per week) and suitable for a proactive professional who is confident in outreach, relationship-building, and achieving KPI-driven outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and contact employers in sectors such as Trades, Healthcare Support, Hospitality, IT, and similar shortage occupations.
- Present sponsorship options and Caren Immigration's services professionally via phone, email, and LinkedIn outreach.
- Qualify leads and work with the Migration Agent on sponsorship and nomination preparation.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and prepare weekly progress reports.
- Support candidate matching and facilitate employer-candidate introductions.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Minimum two years of demonstrated success in B2B sales, recruitment, or employer liaison.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in speaking with business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional client relationships.
- Effective time management, able to meet KPIs and deadlines within part-time hours.
- Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and remotely with accountability.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
Desirable:
- Experience in employer-sponsored migration, recruitment, or staffing environments.
- Understanding of Subclass 482 / 186 pathways and skilled migration processes.
