What your day will look like

As our Payroll/Finance Officer you will:

  • Process Council's fortnightly payroll accurately and efficiently in line with Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and Fair Work provisions.
  • Maintain employee records and masterfile data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with audit and legislative requirements.
  • Provide quality customer service to staff by responding to payroll queries and supporting employee access to payroll systems.
  • Assist with financial administration tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets, data, and statistical reports.

About You

Our ideal candidate is someone who is:

  • Experienced in end-to-end payroll processing, with strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Skilled in using payroll and finance systems, including Microsoft Office and data management software.
  • Knowledgeable about Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and Fair Work legislation relevant to local government.
  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • A clear communicator who provides excellent customer service and works effectively as part of a team.
