We're looking for a Software Asset and Contracts Manager to lead our regional capability for software spend, renewals and negotiations. You'll be a detail-oriented individual excited to work with a global team and local leaders to help optimise spend and compliance across a large portfolio of renewals and new purchases.

This senior role is an individual contributor position and will require strong data manipulation skills, a deep understanding of software asset management, and the ability to operate independently within a dynamic international environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead software contract negotiations for medium to high-risk and long-term strategic agreements globally, collaborating with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Build positive and long-term relationships across the business.
  • Formulate and execute best-in-class licensing, support, and negotiation strategies to optimise costs and mitigate operational and compliance risks.
  • Develop and execute data mapping and cleansing processes to clarify license positions, leading cross-functional teams through true-ups and audit responses.
  • Provide expert guidance on software contracting and license compliance to minimise operational risks and optimise costs.
  • Manage work requests, complexity, and productivity within defined Service Level Objectives.
  • Support the development and implementation of future state processes and workflow automation, including IT Asset Management (SAM) automation.
  • Verify software license entitlements, interpret contract use rights, and recommend strategies for license optimisation and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with the Business, Legal, Architecture, Security, IT Asset Management and Software Analysts globally to negotiate best-in-class license agreements to mitigate risk.

What experience you need

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in software contract negotiation, software asset management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with software licensing models, compliance risks, and cost optimisation, including license entitlement/deployment reconciliation.
  • Proven experience in leading or significantly contributing to high-dollar contract negotiations for software agreements.
  • Experience interfacing with legal teams on contract law pertaining to software licensing.
  • Proficient ability to accumulate, organise, cleanse, and assimilate large amounts of information from multiple sources, demonstrating high-level Excel/Google Sheets skills for data manipulation and visualisation.

What could set you apart

  • Strong understanding of global enterprise software agreements.
  • Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM), including its tools and technologies.
  • Experience managing a large portfolio of annual software renewals and negotiating new software agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide technical teams on optimizing their software licensing.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of annual renewals and new software purchases per year
