About the Role
The Senior Client Manager owns a portfolio of mid and enterprise-level clients, delivering exceptional service and measurable outcomes. You'll be the day-to-day commercial lead for your accounts—driving retention, growth and satisfaction—while aligning with Utilizer's strategy and standards. Reporting to the Lead Client Manager, you'll collaborate across Corporate Accounts, Operations and Growth to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery. You will:
- Manage a defined portfolio of mid and enterprise accounts, with clear retention, growth and customer satisfaction targets.
- Lead quarterly business reviews, roadmap planning and executive updates; proactively surface risks/opportunities and escalate as appropriate to the Lead Client Manager.
- Coordinate internally to deliver agreed outcomes (tenders, analytics, reporting), ensuring timelines, quality and client expectations are met.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships (procurement, finance, sustainability leads), maintaining a trusted-advisor posture.
- Maintain CRM hygiene and forecasting; track pipeline, upsell/cross-sell motions and renewal milestones.
- Contribute feedback to improve our Client Management approach, tools and playbooks.
This is a collaborative, senior role working with some of our most valued clients alongside experienced energy professionals in an organisation that is scaling incredibly quickly.
About You
To succeed in this role, you're commercially savvy, client-centric and comfortable owning outcomes. You communicate clearly, stay organised across multiple moving pieces and collaborate well with internal teams. You're proactive, innovative and operate with a high degree of autonomy while knowing when to bring others in.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Permanent working rights in Australia.
- 4+ years in B2B account or client management with a track record of retention and growth (energy or consulting sector experience highly regarded).
- Minimum 3-4 years of B2B energy sector experience is required.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills.
- Commercial acumen: pricing/contract literacy, margin and risk awareness.
- Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM systems (Zoho preferred).
- Experience with any major CRM system is acceptable if Zoho experience is unavailable.
- Organised and delivery-focused—able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with competing deadlines.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Knowledge of Australian/NZ energy markets, tariff structures and environmental instruments.
- Familiarity with procurement/tender processes and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience working with enterprise clients and complex multi-site portfolios.
- Exposure to analytics/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) for client storytelling.
