Accounts, Administration & Legal Assistant
We have the opportunity for an Accounts, Administration & Legal Assistant to join our team. In this varied role you will work within a small, experienced team and have responsibility for the day-to-day administration of accounts, management of secure documents (Deeds) and provide general administrative assistance to Lawyers as required.
We have two roles, offered on a part-time basis, with 22.5 hours per week to be worked across 3-5 days, to be negotiated with the successful candidates. An outstanding full-time applicant may be considered.
The environment is one which requires high levels of accuracy, professionalism, teamwork, and the ability to prioritise in accordance with deadlines.
Routine responsibilities will include:

Accounts administration: processing of receipts, cheques and invoices, reconciliation of Trust and Office accounts on LEAP and XERO, end of month processing including manual journals and monitoring cost recoveries and disbursements and managing the accounts email inbox.

Secure document/Deed management: filing of registered client documents, maintain the Deed Room ensuring documents are registered correctly, auditing as required, arranging collection or delivery of documents as requested, prepare and issue client letters regarding Will reviews, archive finalised Will files, monitor death notices for deceased clients and managing the Deed email inbox and and client enquiries regarding documents held at the Firm.

Legal Administration: assistance with administrative duties and leave coverage as required, including communicating with clients, scheduling appointments, file administration and dictation.
About you
The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounts assistant, or a legal or administrative assistant with some accounts experience and a desire to work in a varied support role.
Skills and experience:

An efficient and organised person who is able to work largely unsupervised;

Excellent attention to detail, the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work to deadlines;

Good communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a small team;

Competent computer skills are essential, with experience with LEAP Legal Software desirable; and

Reliable, a friendly manner, positive attitude, and professional presentation.
