As we continue to grow and due to a recent retirement of our long-serving Accountant, we are seeking a hands-on Company Accountant to join our team and play a key role in managing the financial health of the business.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Directors, the Company Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, compliance, and reporting. This is a pivotal role that combines technical accounting expertise with a commercial mindset to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full function company accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Lead and Manage the Accounting Team to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Job costing and project financial tracking for developments and builds
  • BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and other statutory compliance requirements
  • Liaising with external auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions
  • Developing and improving financial systems, processes, and reporting structures
  • Providing commercial insights to support business growth and decision-making
  • Assisting Directors with feasibility studies and financial modelling for projects

About You

We are looking for an accountant who is both technically strong and commercially minded. You will be detail-oriented but also able to see the bigger picture.

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.

Key requirements:

  • CA/CPA Qualified
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in an accounting role (property or construction industry highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, tax, and compliance
  • Excellent Excel and accounting software skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data into actionable insights
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – able to work with both site and office teams
  • Proactive, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to a growing business
