The Taungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC) is the voice of the Taungurung people – a people with a strong sense of shared identity, self-determining in the management of Country and culture.

Location: Applicants local to Alexandra and/or living on Taungurung Country
Primary Function
The primary focus of the role is to assist in the protection and management of Taungurung cultural heritage by undertaking Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) and Cultural Heritage Permit (CHP) fieldwork. Any surplus time will be spent on other on-country activities, whether in Land Use Activity Agreement (LUAA) related work, NRM activity or any other TLaWC on-country projects (e.g., property maintenance, bushfire relief etc.).
Key Duties
Cultural Heritage (CHMP) and other RAP Activities – primary duties
Perform CHMP fieldwork, as directed by the project archaeologist or the Cultural Heritage Manager
Perform CHP fieldwork, as directed by the project archaeologist or the Cultural Heritage Manager
Take responsibility for completing on-site works in accordance with the agreed CHMP in order to meet both sponsor expectations and TLaWC standards
Conduct artefact analysis, as required, in relation to Cultural Heritage Management Plans
Conduct cultural heritage inspections for CHPs to ensure compliance with the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (AHA)
Any other duties, as directed by the Cultural Heritage Manager and Executive Manager (On Country - Operations). WHS
Comply with all safety policies, procedures and work instructions to support a safe work environment for all staff
