Mechanical Engineer — SolidWorks, CAM

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Insnrg Techne Pty Ltd Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

About Insnrg

Insnrg designs and manufactures premium pool & spa equipment in Melbourne. Our products are engineered here, with local tooling, assembly and test — so your designs go straight to the factory floor.

The opportunity

Own the design‑to‑manufacture loop for sheet‑metal and machined components. You'll turn robust SolidWorks models into production‑ready drawings and CAM programs, then prove them out alongside our operators.

What you'll do

  • Create SolidWorks 3D parts/assemblies and fully‑dimensioned drawings (incl. GD&T).

  • Program CAM for CNC sheet‑metal (turret/laser), CNC milling, and horizontal lathes; run first‑article prove‑outs and iterate with operators.

  • Drive DFM/DFA for sheet metal & machined parts (bend reliefs, K‑factors, tolerances, datum schemes).

  • Release to manufacture: BOMs, routings, setup sheets and work instructions; support FAIs and ramp.

  • Partner daily with Production & Quality to lift first‑pass yield, reduce cycle time and scrap.

  • Standardise drawing/CAM templates and contribute to continuous improvement.

What you'll bring

  • Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong SolidWorks (sheet‑metal + assemblies + drawings) and PDM familiarity.

  • Hands‑on CAM programming (Mastercam / SolidCAM / Fusion 360 or similar).

  • Proven experience with CNC sheet metal, CNC milling and horizontal lathes.

  • Sound grasp of materials/finishes, GD&T and tolerance stacks.

  • Excellent communication skills and a practical, collaborative style on the shop floor.

  • Preferred: Direct experience in a manufacturing environment; fixture/work holding design; exposure to ECO/ERP and metrology/FAIs.

Why join us

  • Build products that are designed and made in Melbourne — see your work ship to customers.

  • Tight feedback loops with an experienced production team.

  • Career growth across new product introduction and sustaining engineering.

How to apply

Send your CV and a short portfolio (2–3 drawings + screenshots of recent CAM toolpaths) to with subject "Mechanical Engineer — Clayton".

Only applicants with Australian work rights can be considered. We're an equal opportunity employer and welcome diverse candidates.
