What You Will Do & What You Will Bring

This is a casual position

As an MCAD Engineer you will:

  • Create mechanical concepts in 3D CAD to solve technical requirements in a simple and robust manner
  • Detail the design of parts, assemblies, and associated manufacturing drawings in CAD
  • Work with industrial designers, mechanical engineers, and cross functional teams to design and develop new products
  • Liaise with workshop technicians to produce mechanical components
  • Construct prototypes and performing mechanical and functional testing
  • Generate technical documents including design descriptions
  • Perform 2D Tolerance Analysis of CAD assemblies

In addition, we require the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Product Design
  • 3 to 5 years' of experience developing complex electro-mechanical devices, with either a Product Design or Manufacturing background
  • Excellent and innate mechanical engineering aptitude, coupled with a passion for designing and building products or machinery, using a modern 3D CAD system
  • Experience with using a 3D CAD system (Solidworks preferred)

  • Experience in designing components using various materials, including:

  • Plastics: Injection moulding, blow moulding, thermoforming, and machined plastic parts

  • Metals: Sheet metal (cut and folded), machined metal components, and castings

  • Superior problem diagnosis & solving skills

  • Positive, self-motivated disposition and personal accountability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail
