Planning & Procurement Officer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Planning & Procurement Officer who has a strong commercial background, the ability to interpret, challenge and apply planning principles beyond system-generated outputs and has an attitude to succeed. Our location in Laverton North is approximately 18kms west of Melbourne's CBD. About the role…

In this role you will report to the Supply Chain Manager and be responsible for the following:

• Direct & indirect material planning & procurement.
• Source and procure materials, components & consumables.
• Analyse & critique MRP planning outputs to ensure alignment with operational needs.
• Manage inventory levels and initiate replenishment actions to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Coordinate and execute stock transfers between ANZ sites to ensure optimum inventory levels.
• Adapt plans to meet changing demand, supply disruptions or production issues.
• Identify and analyse slow-moving or excess stock.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and lead times.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues to ensure timely delivery.
• Track inbound shipments and monitor ETA of goods.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings & process improvements in procurement and planning operations.
• Engage in continuous improvement processes for optimum stocking levels.
• Support implementation of supply chain best practices and lean initiatives.

Must have experience…

• 3+ years of experience in materials planning & procurement.
• Strong understanding of planning, procurement & inventory management.
• Sound import/export knowledge.
• Solid planning analytical skills to critique suggested MRP outputs.
• Medium level Excel proficiency.
• Working cross-functionally and able to build strong relationships.
