Amentum is seeking a proactive and safety-focused Safety Specialist to join our team in Alice Springs. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Amentum's EHS program and WHS legislation
  • Lead and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Deliver and coordinate safety training and toolbox talks
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and data tracking for incidents, near misses, and safety improvements
  • Provide coaching and guidance on SWMS, risk assessments, and Safe Work Procedures
  • Stay across current WHS legislation and advise stakeholders on relevant safety standards and requirements
  • Coordinate with external vendors for inspections, waste management, and other safety-related site needs

What You'll Need:
  • Diploma in Safety or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years in a similar safety role
  • Strong working knowledge of the Australian Work Health and Safety Act 2011
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to engage with all levels of staff to build a strong safety culture
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • You must be an Australian citizen (security clearance requirement)
