Community Safety Specialist

This role involves working as a key member of our team to promote and maintain community safety in the region.

  • Coordinate community safety initiatives and programs to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Work closely with local communities, stakeholders, and partner agencies to develop and implement strategies that address community safety needs.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff and other relevant parties to ensure the successful implementation of community safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

As a Community Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing community safety policies and procedures that align with council goals and objectives.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partner agencies to identify and address community safety needs.
  • Managing and coordinating community safety programs and initiatives to ensure effective service delivery.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional who can lead our community safety initiatives and work collaboratively with our team to achieve our goals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Community Development or relevant field.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years' experience in a leadership position, preferably in a community development or safety-related role.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment, current NT Manual Drivers' Licence, and ability to obtain a satisfactory completion of NT Working with Children's Check (Ochre) card and Criminal History Check.
