We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join headspace at Echuca Regional Health. This dynamic position will see First Nations Wellbeing Workers empowering young people to achieve their goals, playing a vital role in enhancing access to mental health services for young people from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and culturally diverse backgrounds.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community's in a manner which is friendly and fitting to their cultural background and life circumstances
  • Organise and attend events to promote headspace Echuca, to the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community
  • Support the facilitation of clinical and non-clinical group programs and assist with the engagement of young people
  • Help the headspace team to provide culturally appropriate key resources and services to young people
  • Refer young people to other services and supports when it is in their best interests to do so and with informed consent
  • Actively participate in mandatory meetings as required and requested

Qualifications/experience required:

  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively
  • Experience in identifying and reporting clinical risk assessments
  • Qualifications and/ or work history that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge

Desirable:

  • Certificate and or Diploma in Youth Work, Community Development, Mental Health and or other related areas
