PATA Support Services is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team in SHEPPARTON. As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities, empowering them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote community inclusion and enhance the wellbeing of clients
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, advocating for their needs and preferences
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised support plans
  • Uphold the principles of dignity, respect, and empowerment in all interactions with clients

What we're looking for

  • A relevant qualification in Disability Support, Community Services, or a related field
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or Certificate IV in Disability
  • Experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities
  • Minimum 12 months' experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients, families, and colleagues
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, combined with a commitment to upholding the rights and autonomy of individuals with disabilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the diverse needs and schedules of clients
  • A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
  • A valid driver's licence and own reliable, insured vehicle for community access and transport duties

Essential Criteria once successful

  • A current First Aid Qualification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
  • NDIS Worker Induction.
  • We are looking for staff who are naturally positive and caring.
  • Flexible and available to work a mix of day, evening, overnight (sleepover) and weekend shifts.
  • Working with Children Check (if supporting clients under 18 years)
