The Opportunity

Our client is a highly regarded investment management firm with a strong track record of delivering consistent returns and maintaining deep engagement with its investor base. Managing a substantial portfolio across listed and unlisted strategies, the firm is known for its disciplined investment philosophy and strong alignment with shareholders.

Due to continued growth, a newly created opportunity has arisen for a talented Finance Manager to join a collaborative, high-calibre finance team. This role offers broad exposure across corporate and fund accounting, financial and management reporting, tax, and investment operations - ideal for a technically strong accountant seeking to build their career in a pivotal leadership role within the investment management space.

The Role

Working closely with the finance leadership team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a high performing team across all aspects of financial reporting, fund accounting and FP&A
  • Overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts, board packs, and performance analysis across multiple entities
  • Overseeing and coordinating the preparation of statutory financial statements and managing external audits
  • Ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance, including BAS, FBT, and income tax returns
  • Reviewing fund-related transactions including NAVs, distributions, and capital flows in collaboration with external administrators
  • Leading investor and shareholder reporting, including periodic ASX disclosures
  • Partnering with key stakeholders across the business and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in finance systems, processes, and controls

Your Background

You will be a driven and detail-oriented finance professional with:

  • CA qualified - career beginnings in Big 4 or a leading mid-tier accounting firm, building a solid grounding in financial reporting and controls
  • Proven leadership experience managing staff in a financial reporting environment
  • Background in funds management or adjacent sectors is essential - possibly, we will consider a high-performer outside of the sector who can prove they have a genuine passion to build expertise in this space
  • Experience with listed entities, ASX reporting or fund accounting will be highly regarded
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders
