The Australian energy market is undergoing a once in generation transition. We have a growing demand for a strong skillset in valuations, financial modelling, accounting, and financial risk management to help our clients through this transition. The development of this mix of skills will set you up as a highly in-demand specialist.

About the team

Sitting under Treasury and Capital Markets advisory team, we advise a wide range of clients relating to valuation, mergers and acquisitions, financial risk management and technical accounting. Our clients include some of Australia's largest publicly listed companies, private businesses and government departments.

This role will primarily focus on advising our clients in the energy market.

What will your typical day look like?

As part of the Treasury and Capital Markets team, you will gain a broad exposure to:

Delivering high-quality advisory services across valuations, modelling, accounting and treasury to assist our clients with financial reporting, transaction support, and risk management.

Collaborating with specialists across a range of disciplines to provide integrated solutions for our clients (e.g. Tax and Legal, Consulting, Technical Accounting, Commercial Advisory)

Managing and coordinating client engagements from end-to-end, including handling multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring a high standard across all of our engagements, and interacting closely with our clients.

Coaching and mentoring junior team members, and supporting their personal and professional growth.

Building our team's technical capability and contributing to the overall success and development of our services.

You are an intellectually curious professional with a background in professional services or the Australian energy sector. You thrive on solving complex problems, leveraging your investigative skills, analytical mindset, and holistic approach. Your experience in financial modelling, treasury, and accounting will be key to your success in this role. In addition, you will require:

2+ years of proven experience in the energy sector, or in professional services

Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation concepts, accounting principles, financial risk management and treasury.

A passion for innovation and fresh thinking, with a proven track record of solving problems creatively and handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in financial modelling, with the ability to design, build and review complex financial models.

The ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at a senior level to create insightful reports and effective client presentations.
