Bridge IT Engineering
is seeking a
Technical Lead - Engineering Manager
for a major federal government department with offices in the
ACT.
This role provides strategic leadership in the design, integration, and delivery of cloud-centric IT systems, while managing engineering teams and aligning technical execution with enterprise objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of enterprise-wide cloud and IT solution architectures aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Oversee the specification and design of complex IT systems integrating cloud services, legacy platforms, and emerging technologies.
  • Direct engineering teams across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and security domains, ensuring delivery excellence.
  • Manage integration and delivery of technical staff and vendors,
  • Champion innovation in cloud engineering practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop enterprise architecture frameworks and ensure alignment between business strategy, IT capabilities, and operational models.
  • Build organisational engineering capability through mentoring, process improvement, and workforce development.
  • Manage integration of complex IT systems and cloud services, ensuring seamless interoperability and compliance.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Computer Science, IT Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in leading delivery of cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IT systems engineering.
  • Proven leadership in engineering management and technical strategy.
  • Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud security.
  • Experience in Defence or AIC, ISR, or intelligence domains is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Defence ICT accreditation and engineering approval processes and requirements
